For the last few weeks I have been tormented by Dave and Tracey with little comments on the prototype carbon/bamboo longbow they were building for me. I had to wait till the K-zoo show before I could even see it, so I spent most of December and January going crazy waiting.

Finally I got to lay hands on it!!! St. Joe's are known for a smaller grip, but I am strange and prefer a little more swell in the palm area. It felt like sliding my hand into a form fitted glove when I picked it up. Light in the hand it will be easy for long walks in the woods.

The riser is a mix of spalted maple and stained maple. The colors and design of the spalted maple really pop and the overlayes on the front are very beautiful! Not to mention a few personal tattoo's Tracey did for me.

The limbs are powered by carbon and bamboo. The outer layers, back and belly, are bamboo with the core being carbon. I don't really feel the full weight of the bow until I hit my draw length.  This bow is so stable, smooth drawing and accurate it, I am still amazed after a whole weekend of shooting.  The combination of the two laminates is by far one of my most favorite for performance.

In the end the bow came out at 54@27 and 60 inches long. Perfect blend of stability and for  maneuvering in tight places.  I have a felling my freezer will be very full come next season.    :saywhat:

Arwin, are you going to have it at the youth and tooth? Dave handed me the bow to shoot and I wasn't sure about the size of the grip, I usually shoot better w/ smaller grip so I passed and shot your Green Goblin , wish I would have shot it now, very pretty bow.

I can bring it along, would love to have you try it. I'm also bringing it  on the Bunny Stomp.
