Well, I have been using feather tracers for a few years now on and off. I like the looks of them. Today, I got some 3R Fur tracers in the post, not sure what I think yet. They don't seem any more durable then the feathers.

Does anyone have any experience with the Fur tracers. Got any pics with the fur tracers?

I`ve used both.

I prefer the fur tracers...the ones I have come with a sticky backing, just cut to fit, peel off the cover to expose the sticky, and apply.

I save them for hunting. I have found them excellent for positively identifying the hit location.

The feather tracers I tried had to be glued in position. Took more time, and I found them less durable.

I hope your winter isn`t being too tuff up there.

Say hi to the UP for me would ya?

I use white rabbit fur that is for tying up trout/salmon flies like Zonkers.  I make one wrap and tie them on the same way I'd tie up a fly.  You can really see the arrow but it allows you to use dark or camo fletching.  Not sure if there is a spook factor in bright feathers, but this way I get both vision of the arrow in flight & concealed arrows.  They are very durable...Doc

I've tried both, and one seems to work as good as the other.  One white rabbit hide will last dang near a lifetime on hunting arrows, for....$4 or $5 if I remember correctly.  You can also get a pack of marribou feathers from a hobby shop for $1-$2, peel them off the quill, and have another huge supply and a big selection of colors (I prefer chartruese).

I use fur. I get a big package of 1/4" rabbit strips in Chartreuse for about $5 on the auction site. I glue them down with contact cement. I cut the strips in half and spiral it around the inch I leave between the fletch and nock. I love them. There is a big enough ball to see every detail of my arrow flight, and they look cool in the target.
