first off, how do you start a survey? saw one guy do it, cant figure it out. anyway, just have to do it conventional.
What type of arrow do you use MOST often, choose one of the three:
wood
carbon
aluminum

I only shoot wood @ 3d shoots W/ my RER LX. I shot aluminum for a long time.. ALWAYS  had Problems w/ straightness. Hunting ANYTHING I ONLY use Carbon..It'S GOOD OR BROKE!!

Assorted woods (POC, sitka spruce.  Hickory is next up to try.  Doubt I'll ever settle) and Gold Tip Traditional carbons so far.  I shoot the woods out of my selfbow and the carbons from my recurves and Bear Montana longbow.  They all fly like darts and do the job.  Fun to mess with too.

All three : carbon for 3d and hunting small and med. game (deer), Alluminum for weight hogs and real big game, and wood when I'm feeling like building my own equipment for all and flu flu for bird hunting

Carbon - IMO it's way cheaper than wood or aluminum in the long run and it seems to do its job pretty well.

I would choose carbon or wood.  I just started tinkering a bit with carbon out of my stickbows and really like it so far.  Surprised how easy it was to tune.  

I was trying aluminum (still am I guess) and I'm really kind of surprised at how easily they've been bending when shot a lot.  

I like wood also and a good wood shaft will stand up to some abuse I know this much.  Plus, it's just fun to work with and smells good.
