4 fletch ?

I want to 4 fletch some 4" feathers. what are the advantages/disadvantages between 105x75's and 4@ 90? Also is a slight offset straight or hard helical better? thx Happy New Year!!!

I don't if it is the best way, but I have always used four at 90.  Put plenty of helical on them, they have always shot good for me, never tried them straight or with 105x75.  Sorry probably not to much help.

I  have recently changed my thoughts on arrows.  All my hunting bows are 52 to 55# and instead of having to tune and retune arrows everytime I changed something I switched to Arrow Dynamic Traditional shafts and for no reason other than simplicity...nock an arrow and shoot... went to four fletch at 90%.  I'm more than pleased !  I see them better and love the way they fly.  I have an extra set 44# limbs for my PSAV (go to bow) and shoot AD lites, 4 fletch.

I've been shooting - POC,200 grn head, 4/5",105x75, hard right helicals lately and love them.
Everyone will have their preference but, seeing them in flight and watching 'wheelies' stare is worth the effort.

I never used 4 feathers but I know the guys that use them are really pleased.Using high FOC and a well tuned arrow you don't ned as many fletching as we were used to have some years ago.I know people is using 3x3" also with broadheads with excellent results.

90x90 or 75X105 - imo, both work just fine.  

with a four fletch, i NEVER use helical, just a tad of offset.

worth mentioning again - efoc is yer best buddy, load up that front end big time and enjoy the results!

On my Jo Jan the four fletch was 105X75. I had played with the 90 degree four fletch but to tell the truth the 105X75 seems to me to be a little better for whatever reason. My wife asked me to make her a few to try so after some shooting I had to redo all her arrows. As for Rob's comments about the efoc I am on the same page. It seems to make whatever you shoot better. Unlike him, however, I love my helical.

I've been shooting four 4" helical feathers at 90 degrees for a long time. I know others who shoot four fletch at 75-115 and even 60-120. They all work well, so it's really a matter of personal preference.

I have been using 4 - 4" fletch at 90 degrees for the last 15 years on wood and carbon shafts never had any problems.

I have been using 4 4" fletch at 90 degrees for more than 40 years. I did shoot 4@75x105 for a little while but I think 4@90 is cooler looking. I use a helical fletching jig. I like the way they show up in the target except when they are not where they are supposed to be.

I've shot the 75x105 w/ Helical for many years now ans love how great my broadheads fly.  I have always like the way on my small shelf (Widow) I get great feather clearence by lining 75 feathers down on the shelf.  It puts arrows into the valley, outside the shelf and the upper inside feather w/ less contact towards the window.  Not sure if there's any science to it, but they shoot well for me and make me confidence.

question:

How do you get it to rotate to ONLY 90 degrees...I haven't got the user guide anymore

I have recently been using 4 fletch on 2016's from bows of 48 to 50 lbs. at 27" with good results. I shoot right handed and use right wing feathers with a helical fletch. The feathers are 3 3/4" in length. I use both a Jo Jan Multi-fletch and a BPE Pro Fletch. I tried 90 x 90 and 75 x 105 and they are fine.

I wanted to experiment with other angles. With the BPE Pro you can fletch at any angle you choose. I have been useing 65 x 115 with good results. Leaves the bow good and doen't burn or cut my finger or hand with the feather on my bow hand as it goes by.

I put the first feather at 0 degress with the nock indexed at the same 0 degrees. The second is at 115, the 3rd at 180 and the 4th at 295 degrees.

It's fun to experiment and if you don't like the results, cut them of and try a different combination. Good luck.   Jim

Does anyone see a differance in point of impact from 3 5" to 4 4"? more drag, etc... just curious! been wanting to try this but hate to change my setup. Jason

I just changed from 3 fletch to 4 fletch and I have not noticed any visible changes in speed. I made the change because I bought a new fletcher that gave the option of 4 fletch and I really like it, I think they look pretty cool as well.

So I tried my Bitz but the left handed nock reciever only does 120's - crap

I will have to check with 3 rivers to see if there is a fix - I think I have a right handed one somewhere too....hmmm maybe

No I haven't, and I've tested them out to about 65 yards. Honestly, I think people make more out of fletching drag than there really is.
