Well, I have been a long time looker at this site, and decided to join. I am new to the whole traditional thing, and am loving it so far. For my first post, I might as well as for some help!! This site has been very very helpful already. Anyway, here is my question...

I have made up my mind what I am gonna shoot. I just need help picking the right spine, so I know what size to order. Here are my specs, and how I want to build my arrow.....

Browning Wasp Recurve
28" draw
48lbs
Beman MFX woodgrain classics
100 grain brass inserts
125 grain piont
1.5" off alum footed on the shaft

Please direct me in what spine I should order the arrows. I am willing to start with full length shafts, and cut little bits off at a time to get them to fly good.

Depends how far your bow shelf is cut. If it's center cut or less .500 should work. If it's past center, .400 would work but you may need more weight up front.

Slasher

I use .500 on a cut to center 57# bow but have mine cut to 29.5"

500 should be fine, but you need to bare shaft tune... use the search feature or go to OL Adcocks tuning section on his website to get them flying true,, welcome to the fold
Expect the best. Prepare for the worst. Capitalize on what comes.

Ditto on the whole carbon thing. I use 2213's out of my long bows. I use carbons on the compounds.

I agree on the 500 spine. Check my signature below for my specs. They're similar to yours. I use 2020 Easton arrow pieces for my footing. Here's O.L. Adcock's website link:  http://bowmaker.net/index2.htm
Click on "bow tuning" and read the best arrow tuning info I have ever seen.
