I received my retirement bow from Craig.  What a beauty.  It is a "Big Five", 68" 40#@28", African black wood riser, black glass front and back, hand rubbed finish, with finished grip.  I think it turned out great.  At times the African black wood riser has the color of a dark red/black  bing cherry.  The bow is feather light weighing in at 1# 2 oz.  The bow is the smoothest Hill bow of any I have ever owned or shot, no hand shock at all.  I could almost grab the first group of all four arrows at 20 yards  with one hand.  Its one of those bows that makes you smile every time you shoot it.

This is going to be a great bow for shooting around my property.  I need to make some arrows for it, get 'er all tuned up and I'll be set.

Yessir, nothing like a Hill, and that's a beauty.

Congrats on your retirement, BTW.

I like the handle without any leather on it. Beautiful wood.  Does anyone know if Craig will do a handle with checkering around the handle? You know, like shotguns and rifles??

I would love to get a Wesley Special with a handle like that.

Gorgeous Hill, and what a nice retirement gift to yourself.  Great weight, too.  You'll be able to shoot that way into senior years.

Thanks for all your comments.

TommyBoy, I  think at one time Craig did offer checkering on the riser on some of his special editions.  I would go ahead and just ask him.

OliverStacy, no, the string is not upside down.  When ever you put a square on the string it just about splits the serving in half.  There might be about 1/4" more serving on the lower end of the string.

Retirement is a great thing.  I highly recomend it to everyone.  Your comments are very appreciated.

You guys and your Hill's. I'm trying to be strong and not start thinking about new bows, but you make it real hard when you put-up pretty pics like that. LOL. Enjoy the bow and the Retirement! Congrats!

DannyBows....forget it, you can''t resist the allure of a new Hill.  Why should you be sensible about this stuff--it''s only money   ;)
