Well, while driving and listening to an old CD a text conversion of an old folk/country song came to my mind. thought I´d share (I´d sure might help if you know the song or can listen to it while reading):

--------------------------------
The devil went down to Tradgang
He was lookin' for a soul to steal
He was in a bind
'Cause he was way behind
And he was willin' to make a deal

When he came upon this hunter
stalking to a deer for a close up shot
And the devil jumped
Up on a hickory stump
And said boy let me tell you what

I guess you didn't know it
but I'm an archer too
And if you care to take a dare I'll make a bet with you

Now you shoot a pretty good arrow, boy
But give the devil his due
I'll bet a arrow of gold
Against your soul
'Cause I think I'm better than you

The hunter said  I´m from Tradgang
And it might be a sin
But I'll take your bet
And you're gonna regret
'Cause I'm with the best there's ever been

Hunter rosin up your bow and pick youre spot there hard
Cause hell's broke loose on Tradgang and the devil deals the cards
And if you win you get this shiny arrow made of gold
But if you lose the devil gets your soul.

The devil opened up his case
And he said I'll start this show
And fire flew from his fingertips
As he rosined up his bow

Then he pulled the bow back on its string
And it made an evil hiss
And towards the deer the arrow flew
But the kill zone he did miss

When the devil finished
The hunter said well you're pretty good old son
Just sit right in that chair right there
And let me show you how it's done

He took an arrow from his quiver
slow and smooth,
Nocking it in and drawing it back
while picking a spot on the big old  Doe
Did the hunter miss the deer?
No sir, no

The devil bowed his head
Because he knew that he'd been beat
And he laid that golden arrow
On the ground at the hunter´s feet

The Hunter said, Devil just come on back
If you ever wanna try again
I done told you once you son of a bitch
I'm the best there's ever been

And he took an arrow from his quiver
slow and smooth,
Nocking it in and drawing it back
while picking a spot on the big old Doe
Did the hunter miss the deer?
No sir, no
------------------------

Now i´ll just need to leran an instrument, found a band and.....well, its not going to happen    ;)
And sometimes our dreams they float like anchors in hopeless waters oh way down here
Sometimes it seems that all that matters most are all the things that you can't keep

this is a type of song I could grow to love hearing everyday. Good work
"Why do not the Indians till the ground and live as we do?" May i not ask with equal propriety, "Why do not the white people hunt and live as i do?"

Y'all should have put something in there  like "the devil showed his compound bow" then you get the real feeling of good vs evil.

cheers!!

Gave away a brown felt/beaver fedora signed by Charlie Daniels to a soldier in Iraq (Jason Coffey ?). Thank goodness he made it home in one piece. Your song reminded me of that hat my brother gave me a long time ago. Very cool.
