Had anyone used the Razorhead?  Just curious how they cut?

Thanks!
God Bless,

IMO the best Broadhead ever produced, I always used the bleeder blades with them. Makes a massive cut resulting in a great blood trail.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside thoroughly used up, totally worn out, with bible in hand and loudly proclaim...WOW...What a Ride!!!

I think they proved their lethality decades ago.  Can't imagine the number of animal fallen to them.

The road to "Sherwood" makes for an awesome journey.

As Terry stated, they have without a doubt proven themselves.

I got my first trad deer last year with one without the bleeder blade. Did its job well. I lost one this year with one (also without bleeder blade), but I think it was a result of it sticking solidly in a shoulder bone (dang deer STILL hasn't returned my arrow     )

Since then I have added the bleeder blade, but have not had an opportunity to "test" it.

I really like the way they fly in their 2 blade configuration. I feel more confident in hitting what I'm aiming at with them as opposed to others I have practiced with.

Anyway, don't know if all this rambling answers your question, but I like 'em.

Yes great head, easy to sharpen, like them old high carbon blade knives, of yesteryear.

Shot my second deer with one in the eighties, and a big 8 pt. 3 years ago with one. And a bunch of other critters in between!

Dennis Jackson, aka "Adeeden" shot his bigun with a Razorhead, check it out!

If you got 'em, shoot 'em!

I've killed more than 30 whitetails, mule deer, elk and bear with them.  If they still made glue on heads it would be the only one I would use.

mrpenguin, I'm guessing you are relatively new to the sport, as the Bear Razorhead needs no Billy Mays or Jimmy Football sales pitch to prove its metal.

How about, elephant, rhino, cape buffalo, lion, tiger, and myriad other ultra large game taken efficiently over a 53 year period?  That should tell you.

Now, if you need new input, I will tell you they have worked very well for me for over 45 years.
They are very easy to sharpen in the field, durable, and have built-in mojo...whatever that is 8^).

Now about the brand new ones, that don't even look like real Bear Razorheads, and aren't made by Bear Archery?   No comment.

And, the old green/tan ones are readily available if you keep an eye out.  Bear could make millions of them every year; the Bear Razorhead machine spit one out every five seconds.

They worked for me this year. I used one made over 50 years ago to take a nice fat button buck, shot out of a 50 year old Bear Grizzly.

Greenies are to archery what 30/30 is to guns. Half my arrows are tipped with them.

The only broadheads I use. In texas, in africa and canada.  On pigs, deer, kudu and cottontails.  They just work.  I shoot the 64's, and the 145 grain stainless and both shoot perfectly.  I love how compared to today's high speed manufactured broadheads, the older bear razorheads look like they were put together by drunk 3rd graders, especially the newer 145's.  However, they  are more accurate and perform as well as any of the new stuff.  I have put a tanto tip on all of mine and have had no issues with bad flight or altered point of impact.  Since I have already bought up my lifetime supply of them for about $ 3 to $ 4 a head, I'll advise you to get em while you can.

The Bear Razorhead is an excellent broadhead. They fly true, easy to sharpen in the field and like George said, they have mojo.

I was told they quit making the inserts, anybody no of a supply?

I don't shoot to kill very often, but I do shoot and practice quite a bit with the Razorhead. They fly better than anything else I have tried.

I was shooting the blue ones (145gr) for awhile and they worked very well for me. When they were discontinued I switched to Zwickeys and they have not performed nearly as well as the Razorheads.

swamper

still using 20 plus years old, still taking deer with them

Shot my first two trad deer with them this year. The first was a doe in Vermont without the bleeder, double lunged, 30 yards dead. The second was a 7 point in Ohio, spined him at 26 yards with the first shot, dropped immediatly, the broadhead was bent and the bleeder broke off [as it was designed to do] I then shot this deer again to finish him off, a second razorheade with the bleeder, the arrow went completely through the deer and was laying on the ground on the other side. Blood everywhere, bleeder was not affected. These two kills were with a 49lb bow and a 32 inch long 2117 arrow. I think that is quite impressive. BTW, a frend is selling me 29 bear arrows with razorheads attached, some with inserts, that should give me a lifetime supply. Awesome!
