.......arrow point.
i finished my 1st ever primitive point yesterday. it's made from the bottom of a long neck beer bottle. it turned out to be 2" long, 1 3/8" wide and 5/16" thick. it weighs 192grs. starting to get the hang of setting up platforms to be able to push of nice big flakes past the centerline, which you need to do in order to thin it down while still ending up with enough width. it will be special to shoot something with it that's for sure! or should i keep it??

Definately shoot something with it!
Then you have a real reason to save it and make another and so on.

WOW Clint!

I actually found a "mother load" of obsidian about two weeks ago. There is a vein of it exposed after a road was cut near my friend's house, about a 30 minute drive from me. Most of the chunks I've found are about the size of a golf-ball with a few 'bout the size of lemons. It's neat stuff with clear layers which I would think lends itself to thin and wide objects.

I'm feeling pretty darned inspired... Any chance you could do a build-along or PM me a thread link?

Happy thanksgiving to you bud (do y'all celebrate that in Australia too?)

Clint,
That is really a nice head. I watched a guy
make one once out of a blue bottle bottom. That was really sharp too.
