I just thought I would share a couple of pictures of the buck I shot last night. He's not going to break any reacords but I'm still very pleased with him.He is a 4x4 and is the largest buck I've see this fall.
I started hunting deer in early October and never seen a buck larger than a 3x3 which is very unusual for this part of the country. The last couple of years we have had depredation hunts for CWD on Whitetails and Mule Deer in Saskatchewan, and this has affected the deer numbers dramaticlly.
Combined with two tough winters has really made it hard hunting.Anyway to the story.Yesterday afternoon I got into my stand about 3:00 and began my wait along a trail to food source. At about 4:30 a fork horn buck came by and then at about 5;00 this buck came through.I drew and released a Sitka Spruce shafted tipped with a 160g Stos broadhead.
The arrow Impacted with loud THHHWACK,the buck wheeled and ran back towards the direction he came from.I quicky grunted a couple of times and seconds later I heard him going down only 50 yards from where I hit him.I used a homemade longbow drawing 53lbs.@28" for this hunt.Well have to go ,I hope you enjoy the pics guys and by the way the first pic is exactly where and how he died.Bye for now,Dell.

Nice buck. The deer looks very large bodied. Congrats

I know it's frustrating when deer numbers drop especially when you are used to seeing a lot.  This CWD scare has decimated #'s in WI.  Most of my friends went from seeing many deer to one or two a season.

Congrats.
