Public land hunting in SW Missouri

Can anyone here provide me with info on public land hunting in sw Missouri? I am doing the usual research via the web but I am looking for info from those with actual experience. I am not asking for you spot, lol,  I am just asking for good info on a starting point. I am going to be taking my wife and visiting some family in Ark. and would like to make a true vacation of it! anyone hunted the Bull Shoals Lake Management lands?

Forrest, PM Onestringer he lives in Republic, Mo. and that isn't very far from Table Rock lake and Bull Shoals. I think parts of Mark Twain national forest reach down fairly close to there.I'm sure there is huntable public land in that area.   Ben
