I built a few Bingham bows a few years back but lately I've been keeping buisy with selfbows these last few winters (bow building season). In the back of my mind I've been designing "my" perfect glass hunting bow.  I've owned some fine bows these last 5 years or so and each have given me inspiration and ideas for "my" bow.  After designing the critical specifications on paper I slowly made the limb form, riser templates etc. and picked out some woods with Brent Rudolphs help. Limb thickness/width taper was an educated guess at best but it seems I got lucky.  Again I used my old pro bows to get me in the ballpark with this. Not to say their werent mistakes made but all in all I couldnt be happier with looks, performance, and shooting qualities. The bow pretty much turned out looking and behaving like I hoped. I even hit weight so to speak.  Limb tip overlays and string grooves however continue to kick my butt.     :banghead:

She will be with me this fall for Elk and Deer. Spring Turkey and Bear is reserved for my Sheepeater.

Hope you like and thanks for lookin everyone.
Best of luck this Spring.

OOps, almost forgot the woods.  Some of the most beautiful I've seen, thanks to... Brent Rudolph, Mark Baker, and Mike "Wingnut" Westvang. 'oh and Ma-Nature.

Osage/Purpleheart Riser with same overlays + bacote on top.

Bacote back limbs, Osage belly.

Also, a sprinkling of Black phenolic for strength on riser and base of tip overlays.

Well done Randy!..  :notworthy:  ... wish I could do something like that. I thought of making bows one day but enjoy shooting my widows to much to want to start fresh!

Keep at it mate, now to down an animal with it.

Oh yeah, she is just over 60" ntn.  15" Riser.
Bends nicely into the wedges and the last 8 inches of tip remain stiff. Smooth out to just before 29" and then starts to stack up.  About 54#@27".

Franc, I forgot a braced pic, I'll get back out and get one, maybe a full draw too. I'll post-em up top in the first post.

Randy Morin

Ok...I added a braced pic and full draw pic up top.
