I took a decent buck last Thursday ( see Post "initated Schafer Limbs " ) and skinned then cleaned the skull by simmering for a hour then taking pressure washer to it then simmered another hour , then pressure washing again . It turned out good but has a little smell to it  , will the smell go away or do I need to do something else? Look at the picture and make suggestions please .

did you make sure to get the majority of the sinus cavity cleaned out and the brain matter in the skull?  Once you do that, pour borax (any grocery store)  in those two places, any left over matter will dry up with little to no smell.

Yeah Shawn I sprayed with the pressure washer in the nsoe and brain cavity with good results . I will try the borax .

Thanks
Jack

i simmer mine for several hours but you also need to degrease....thats the real purpose of boiling is to get the grease out of the bone.

i dont much care for the power washer method i prefere to scrub by hand...doesnt take me too long after 20 or 30 skulls.

id try and simmer it in water and dawn soap and make sure all brain and nasal flesh are gone 100%.

if you need additional help email me i have a step by step i could email but im not allowed to post it on here it always gets deleted.

Simmer it again but add some Dishwasher detergent to help degrease it and improve the smell.

Looks like it turned out well.
