When you said some other interesting animal I had a feeling it might be a wolf. Congrats, a wolf is a fine trophy.        :notworthy:

Wow...that is something, look at the feet on that thing. Really unique!!!!

You killed a wolf while still hunting?!!

Dang, to say you're gonna go after a wolf, and then actually GET ONE is pretty special.  Sucks for the moose, though, that they're so plentiful....

BEAUTIFUL!!!!!  Are you going to be taking him to the taxidermist???
What would you attempt to do, if you knew you could not fail?

Congrats.  That is very cool.

Is this the first wolf harvest on here?  I don't remember others.

Steve H.

Let:

I only ever remember hearing about four wolves killed with traditional bows.  Bryce "Wary Buck" Lambley in Manitoba; Keith Dana (WY) in Alberta; a guy from MT killed one with a recurve in Alaska (story in TBM several-5 years or so ago); and mine.

Danny Simmons shot a wolf in Bosnia in the 90's but it ran into a mine field so was not recovered and for good reason!

Would be interested to hear if anybody was aware of others?

AkDan

I know of a few with compounds but yours is the first with a stick that I've heard of around here.

talked to my big boss today, come to find out he was up there for the last two weeks also (caribou hunting)...he said in two weeks time he figured he seen 20 to 30 THOUSAND caribou....man alive!!!

WOW cool Beans!

to kill a top predator is a feat in itself- to kill one with a tomato stake--wel jist dont git no better

Steve you really are an old dog! Scent must've drawn her in!

Amazing all the same!

Congrats on a feat that will be tough to beat!

Good thing you got it now- I heard this week that wolves have been returned to the endangered species list, so no more hunting them until some semblance of sanity returns to wildlife management.

I agree that is a trophy of a life time.  To stalk a top predator and close the deal is just awesome.    :clapper:

Don:  The ESA determination doesn't apply to Alaska.
