Just curious to see if any of us trad guys were blessed to have drawn a good tag so far this year. I put in for 2 out of state tags and went 0 for 2. Still have hopes for my home state draw!

NO...I am about 0 for 20 like usual   :(

Nope, but where I can afford to hunt it's over the counter tags for me.

snag

WOW Mike! That's great. Hope to see some pics after your hunt and some stories. So, you were the one that edged me out of 16A!
It's been 7 yrs. in a row I haven't drawn a N.M. tag....next year! I still hold out hope on a tag from my home state.

Just applied for a Pike Co. Ill. deer tag. Purchased a deer hunt at the New York Bowhunters Dinner. Looking forward to seeing some deer. The outfitter like you to shoot 150 class or better....we'll see! First week in October isn't far away.

I drew Unit 61 archery deer ... I was the only non resident out of 22 applicants that had 4 points that drew the tag. I didn't draw Unit 61 archery elk with 14 points ... I was only one of two non resident applicants with 14 points that did not draw the tag. Go figure! Oh well, it gives me a chance to chase big deer and scout the unit for elk for next year. Good luck to everyone still waiting on results!

To me, the ultimate challenge in bowhunting is not how far away you can succesfully make a killing shot but rather how close you can get to the animal before shooting.

What state Dan? Sounds like there is a tough competition for that elk tag if it take 14 pts. to have a chance!

I drew a Minnesota Bear tag area 31 and I'm just hoping to have enough vacation to get out there in September.  They have made us take 12 days off between April 1st and June 30th, if this continues to carry over into July I'm going to be out of luck.  I think I'll just have enough to go so I'm really looking forward to going.

I drew a January tag for Coues deer in SW New Mexico. Also drew an elk tag near our place in the Jemez and just learned that the National Rainbow Gathhering will be held smack in the middle of elk country the first seven days of July. This event uasually brings in thousands of people. It'll be interesting to see what impact this has.

Snag my tag is for Unit 61 in Colorado. I guess I put in all the info except the state!  :knothead:
