burlap bag filled with a bunch of old clothes.( alot of the not-new stores will usually have a bag day now and then where you can buy whatever fits in your bag for a couple bucks).just remember to remove zippers and buttons before filling bag with them..And viola,,you have a bag target for just a couple bucks..I've also added my empty water softner bags to the clothes..seems to work good with ZERO pass thru's..There is the occasional PASS-BY but we won't talk about those..

I just made a target out of a feed sack(kinda similar to burlap) and I used very heavy scrap plastic and already-used stretch-wrap to fill it with. I packed it in the sack real tight and sewed up the end with some fastflight serving. Works great. I'm curious to see how long it will last but it seems like it will hold together for a mighty long time by the way it stops my arrows presently. And besides, it was 100% free, so any length of time it lasts will be considered a bonus!

i dont know what kind of foam it is but the foam that boat storage places use to hold boats off the ground is some mighty strong stuff if you can get yoru hands on some it makes a great target

1" x 6" board frame with carpet on both sides and stuffed with plastic bags. Make frame nail carpet on leaving one side open and stuff with bags using a broom handle to pack it down
I try not to let my mind wander...It is too small and fragile to be out by itself.

I bought a target bag on **** for $10. It is 3' square and you can stuff it with cloth or plastic.
It makes a great target and it is cheap.
The size of the horns don,t matter
as long as it has a good tale.

G B, Now that's a workin target! Much obliged.

Like some wise creature once said, simple using what's available is the best goin. That includes sticks, strings and of course targets. Everything is bio-degradable eventually.

I use old carpet and doormats. I cut them 3 x 3 square with a razor knife and stack them in the loft of the garage.
When I'm ready for it, I glue them together with latex carpet glue. Paint it on, stick them together and then put a board and something heavy on top to dry for 24 hours. Make it about a foot think. Mount on a frame. If you want to shoot broadheads, you just shoot into the side. Works nice and lasts a long time. You use both sides. You can even peel the top 4-5 layers off and glue a few new squares on and it's like new again.

A replacement cover for the Yellow Jacket targets cost $12 - $13. I bought one of those and went to a mattress store and picked up a load of the plastic that they wrap the mattresses in and stuffed the cover with that. I twisted it up a little and fed it into the bag. Stops the arrows great. You could also pick up the plastic from a furniture store. I just asked the guy if I could raid his trash for it, he had no problem about me taking it. The price was right.
If ya don't wanna spring the $'s for the cover you could use the plastic in the burlap bags too.
If something seems too good to be true it's best to shoot it, just in case. ... Fiona on "Burn Notice"

Dog food bags stuff tightly with hay, not the paper bags.

Ishoot4thrills, I've got a target I made just like that out of a grass seed bag (that woven plastic kind) stuffed with packing plastic and it's taken thousands of arrows and is still going strong. That's the only target I've shot at for a few years now. It's showing some wear, but there's a lot left to give. It was free.

Third Hand bag targets are great.  I've had one going on 4 years and still holding up.

I have seen a box of sand on here a few times you might do a search.

Yep same type of bag. The dogs eat 50lbs a week, so I stuff it and set it up on the shooting trails.
