I bought a couple of dozen Easton XX75 Blues recently since they are a real bargain at about $30/dozen. I have to say, I actually LIKE the color--they're easy to find in the duff-- and they remind me of the old original gamegetters (which were green) as far as durability. It's hard to find arrows that are expendable for stump shooting.

Sounds cool Susan. Are these aluminum? I don't have much experience with aluminum. What poundage are you shooting? Sounds great for stump'n!

Sounds like you have found a good stumping arrow...one of the things I hate is losing arrows. Breaking them is right up there too.

Killdeer

Hey Bona! I just did a quick search and found them in spines from 1716 to 2016. I bought some last year at a shoot because the price was right.
And because there is a little hole through each nock end, so when you get a bundle of them and point the nocks toward the light and look through the open front ends, you get a real trippy kaleidoscope effect out of them. Jazz shafts do it too.

I'm so easily amused...

I was looking at some of those the other day in 2016 for stumping and stuff.Hard to find a better expendable aluminum for the price.

Why? I mean if ya shoot carbons for stumping a $60 dollar dozen would outlast $150 dollars worth of the blues at $30 a dozen(5 dozen). Shawn

30 dollar beer cans will out last 100 dollar   fishing poles if you know your stumps and hit what you shoot at, and they are a lot easier to pull out of the foam.   :bigsmyl:

I am NOT a lady archer but I shoot the Easton Black Gamegetters and they shoot good too.I use the 2016's and they shoot sweet out of my 45# lonnbow.

Bear Heart

I shoot blues out of my non hunting bows. For me that's <50# longbows and <45# recurves.  These are my rehab bows and Blues are perfect.

They are XX75s, so they can't be too bad.
If it's in your way, move it.

I picked up 3 doz of the Jazz shaft for the grandkids shafts in 1916...they are great for shooting..now for the stump shooting I use the old wood shaft with big blunts on the end...they bounce off of just about anything. They are not cut down so I can break them about 3 times prior to the shafts being to short for my draw, then they are passed along to other archers that have less than a 29 inch draw....

huntryx I also enjoy the sport of stump shooting, no better practice for the hunt. I was yesterday getting the fly rod out to get the dust off for another season and refletched a doz of the older wood blunt arrows....If you are in the area stop by and we can shoot a few arrows...
you should see how I use to shoot

For stumpin', I use woodies made up sparten like. Dip, point, nock & feathers. Simple as possible. Also use them for squirrel hunting. Doesn't matter if lost or broken.
