Preforms count BIG TIME! There is a nearly endless supply of rock. There is NOT and endless supply of varieties. If you want some Horse Creek Chert.......get it now. There are wonderful nappers that use this material from spalls and now it's scarce. You could have taken a spall and sliced it up into 5 preforms and made 5 points instead of one. It's a matter of responsible conservation.

Even though this pic doesn't do this knife justice by a long shot, it is my all time favorite and is very sentimental to me.
