When bare shaft tunning your bow it's seems every states they like the shaft to come in slightly weak. What is considered slighlty weak  the shafts grouping 1,2,3in from the fletched?

Thanks
Rich

I don't know the offical answer but I feel good about the bareshaft hitting inside a four inch circle close to four/five o'clock

I am going to start the process with a new bow next week so I am just going to post the same question.  I was also wondering why weak vs stiff.  When you add the fletching you add weight and it would seem you would make the shaft ever weaker.  Is it just best to have a more flexible arrow to a reasonable extent for riser clearance?

Rich, Are you shooting 2" groups or 20"...Are you shooting 10 yards or 90?

Take 2 pie plates..Mark one "fletched" and the other "Bare"...Those are your groups...If right handed, hold the "bare" in your right hand and fletched in your left..Cover up the fletched plate with the bare plate about half way and down about half way...that's what you are looking for...If your plates are 2" (groups), same thing. The two groups should mix leaning to slightly weak and slightly nock set high, from as far away as you feel comforable..This is the most forgiving tuning set up.....O.L.
