Hello all. I have been curious about the new gamegetter shafts (500).Has anyone used them.Do you like them?I shoot a Damon Howatt hunter 46# @ 28'' I draw 29" and am currently shooting 30-1/2'' XX75 2016'S I really like them but was curious how close the 500's were and if you have any issues with the composite unibushings.
 THANKS IN ADVANCE BRIAN

The 500's are the same as 2016s.  I am using the 400's, which is a 2117.  So far I have not had any problems with the plastic unibushings but I still don't really like them and want to replace them with metal.  Has anyone replaced them?

I love them!  I ordered five dozen shafts a couple of years ago and they came with the swaged end, like all the old shafts.  Then the next time I ordered a few dozen shafts they came with the nocks installed, which has not been a problem.  I see guys bashing them, but for the price and ease of tuning, I don't think you can beat them.  Give them a try, I think you will like them!
Don't accept your dog's admiration as conclusive evidence that you are wonderful.

I have the 400. Shot all summer with them at 3D's. Work great. no complaints.

Friends call me Pac

I shoot the 500s and don't have any complaints at all.  29.5" with 125gr field tip or Magnus 2 blade.  5o lb bow.

I sure don't see any reason for me to buy anything else at the moment.

An old hand me down recurve sparked the fire, Trad Gang fanned the flames.  There is no stopping now.  Burn baby burn!

I like the shafts for the price, my father shot the 500's and I shoot the 400's. I did have the composite bushing break and crack on impact shots into harder ground. Its like the bushings cant handle the transfer of energy and they would crack or break. I witnessed this on the 500, 400, and 300 shafts. I called Easton and they said I was the first complaint to come over to customer service but was nice enough to send me the aluminum uniushings for my troubles and I thought that was cool. If you swap them out be sure to use low heat on the composite cause it likes to melt. I took a regulatr lighter and needle noses and pulled the old ones out. That is my only complaint about them.

i work part time in an outdoorsman shop. we sell the gamegetters and have no problems with the shaft. but like bob said, the bushing is plastic. so when the time comes to refletch you can't just scrap off the old feathers and soak in acetone. it will eat the bushing away. you either have to scrap the shaft really well and only use acetone on scrub pad. or better yet order easton alum bushing and replace the plastic bushings. that is what i've done with mine. love the shafts and recommend them highly. tim.
Life is short.....eat dessert first!!!

I like the shafts just fine, and the 500's are in fact 2016's.  The only problem I have had is the plastic bushings don't hold up, and the nock begins to get loose in the bushing after a lot of shooting.  I replaced the plastic bushings with the aluminum bushings, and all is good.

Like Stringdancer said, the 500's are in fact 2016's.  They are even stamped "2016 Components" in small print. I'm shooting them out of a Damon Howatt Hunter 50# at 28"  with 125 gr. field points and 125 gr Magnus Stingers and they fly great.  I haven't had the plastic bushings loosen, but I may not have shot 'em enough   :D

I am shooting the " BLACK HUNTERS " in 500/2016 30.5" out of mt 45# long bow @ 30"draw.So far no problems.

I pull the uni nocks out and then cut the shafts off from the back end, this gets rid of the uni bushing. Then I glue in the aluminum nock adaptor that allows me to use a regular glue on Classic nock. I use the uni nocks on my carbon arrows.

I haven't heard of theses new gamegetters. I am shooting the Legacy right now...in 2018 what would be comparible to those in the gamegetters?

DANNERMAN

thanks to all for your input.I think I will give em a try. I"ll let you guys know what I think of them

EricW

anchorman 500 would be the way to go. the 400 are the same as 2117.
