Went for a walk today with my son

After waking up and having some pancakes and yogurt, my son Brody began his usual running around the house chasing the dog and getting into mischief. He kept looking out the window and pointing so I opened the front door and noticed that it was a relatively nice day. I went upstairs and grabbed my bow and thought I'd go out and try to chase some bunnies or at least some leaves and stumps. While I was putting my coat on, Brody brought me his little plastic longbow and handed it to me. I thought, he's probably as stir crazy as I am  from being cooped up in the house. I checked the weather and saw that it was in the mid 50's. I put on his coat and grabbed a little short arrow out of my wife's quiver and off we went. We hung around the field for a while shooting and enjoying the sunshine. Brody is only twenty months old so he can't shoot by himself but he tries. We soon found a deer trail and started down it. I couldn't believe that I didn't have to carry him. I just walked slowly and he followed carrying his little bow. We found some deer poop, aluminum cans, and all the sticks and leaves that a little boy can pickup. We didn't find any rabbits or squirrels but we had fun anyway. Best of all, he got his good shoes muddy which made his mother happy. HEHEHE! Thought I'd share. Tripper

Have you noticed that the times you don't get nothing while hunting, are usually the most fun you've ever had.

GREAT JOB DAD! You will cherish these years. I did the same thing with my son & daughter. He is now 15 and loves turkey and deer hunting and she loves camping and fishing! It's great to see you bringing up the next generation of hunters.

kennym

Stay sharp, Kenny.

The most frightening thing you are likely to encounter in nature is yourself.
