Hey Gang,
What kind of mass weight can a guy expect from a parallel or tapered purpleheart and lam birch shafting(ie. grains/inch)?  anyone have any experience with the purpleheart shafting? Thanks for the help, Matt

Lam birch 5/16' shafting around 550 grn

I had one purple heart shaft to experiment with, 5/16" and tipped the scale at 800 grn!

Hey Shaun,
is that for a full length bareshaft or finished shaft?  What has your experience been as far as durability with these shafts?  Cheers, Matt

Cut 29". Birch lams are durable but need tending to keep straight. Only had the one purple heart shaft and its still around somewhere but it did not see a lot of use to determine durability.

Thanks Shaun.

Anyone else have any experience or information on the purpleheart or lam birch shafts?  Cheers, Matt
