Got a set of limb skins for my 3 piece take down. The directions say to take off the limbs, pull it over the riser and then poke a hole and attach the limb bolts thru the skins.

I'm not concerned about the riser, it's a nice wood tone. Should I install as the directions say or just let the skins bunch up some on the limbs or trim the length of the skins so they just go up to the nocks nice and tight with no bunching on the limbs.

I have no idea, and I am unanimous in that 8^).

Thanks George.

Can I trim to shorten the fat end of these w/o them unraveling? There is no way they are going over the Hatfield riser anyway.

What kind of skins are these?  I'm not completely sure what you are asking.  Are these stick on or just a material that you pull on the limbs?

Limb Skins. They slip over the limbs. They are long and supposed to go over the riser and the length of the limb to the nock end. Riser is too fat, doesn't need covered anyway. The material is bunched up along the limb cause it is so long. Probably wouldn't hurt anything but if it doesn't hurt to trim it shorter so they are tight with no access material I would do it. Don't want to be out the cash if the cutting causes them to start unraveling.

I would just leave em bunched up.  Never no if they'll unravel or fray if you cut them.  Contact the manufacturer and see what they have to say...Mike

I roll the bottom end up inside its self, kinda double layer they bottem if that makes sence. i also apply camo face paint to the limb skins to take the shiny-ness out of them.

John,

Just slide them over the limbs, starting at the tips, and let them bunch up at the riser. No problem.
