After much thought and research, I made a decision on my next bow and ordered a Shrew Samurai from Ron.   :jumper:   I have a whole year to wait, so post me your Shrew pics and  shooting impressions of yours.  Also welcome are any tips for a newbie. Thanks!   ;)

OMG! Gotta wait a year. How are you gonna sleep at night? You will be a very happy camper when you get your new bow. Congrats! I own a "new to me" Super Shrew Gold and another "new to me" Original Shrew (circa '90s) and well... My other bows cry themselves to sleep at night cause they hardly come off the wall pegs now. Get the picture?

Thanks, Mike.  Good start and really glad to hear you like them so much.  It was a toss up for me between the SS Gold and Samarai...both are beautiful!

Tim,

If you order a take down Chameleon, they are all gauranteed to bring down one elk like this no extra charge.  All I ever get with my Samurai is flying pheasants...

Here is my 56" SuperShrew longbow in the field(bagged two hogs that weekend with that shrew longbow) I also have a 54" "lit" favorite recurve. Both bows shoot like a dream I wish I had one or two more.

Found myself mulling it over for months and finally made the call early in the week to Ron for a SS Classic hunter 54" 56lbs @ 26" Chamelon brown. I'm really stoked!!

Beautiful bow, Eric!  Cody, did you find one of the two easier or more natural to shoot?  Congrats, Greg...looks like we'll be getting our bows days apart.    :archer:

I think with my two bows the Supershrew longbow is alittle easier to shoot for accuracy than the 54" Lit Favorite Recurve, but the Recurve is two inches shorter than my SuperShrew so that may be the difference not the bow designs. The recurve is alittle faster and more compact I am looking forward to shooting it this spring out of a DB blind for turkey.  I was out blunting stuffed animals around the yard this evening, yes I said stuffed animals like you buy for your kids. I had no problem hitting the small ones out to 25 yards with both bows great pratice it really test your shooting ability.

Tim, Im sharing the excitement with you. Shot a couple during the 3-d seaon this year and there in a different class in my opinion. Been building on bows for 4 years and havent made anything even close. Rons the man!!!Shrews the bow!!

That tears it! Now I'm going to have to get my hands on one. I've been trying to decide what to buy and everything points towards a Shrew fitting my requirements.

But, I think I'll have to find one on the classifieds.  I don't have the attention span to wait a year.  :knothead:

That Super Shrew on Ron L.'s website only lasted a couple of hours. I'm glad I have a Shrew coming. I am going to get on the list for another so I will have three in the cue.

Here are a few that I own.  This should make the year fly by!!

First is my 58" Scout Recurve Cocobola and Birdseye Maple riser and Tamo Ash limb Veneers.

Here is my wife's 52" Classic Hunter all Tulipwood

Here are my other 3 at deer camp last year.  The one with the quiver on it is a 58" Samurai, the light colored one is a 54" Classic Hunter all Osage, and the dark one is a 54" Lil' Favorite.

Hope that is enough to get you started.  As you can tell these bows are great.  In my opinion you cannot find a better shooting bow.
