Tried this out tonight with a Magnus two blade 135 grn. About 15 strokes each side,(pic taken). I then went to the Accusharp. Seemed to loose the sharpness. Applying to much pressure ?
Thanks ,
Mike

In my experience with the files, I use zwickeys, I start with heavy pressure at first to change the angle, then use progressively lighter pressure til shaving sharp, touch on  a diamond stone, then leather strop. Keeps the edge very sharp. If I don't use the BH that year a few light passes with the diamond stone refreshes the blade the next year.
The essence of the hunt for me is to enter nature and observe+ return safely occasionally with the gift of a life taken.
