ever had this happen to your magnus II or zwickey?

shoot a sow on the weekend. didn't recover her so i don't know what it hit. but i'm disappointed. a mate of mine who shoots wheels shot a boar through both shoulder blades the week prior and his magnus bent worse than this. as you can see it was chisel pointed too.

Not good!
I like Magnus heads, I wonder what the heck happened.

When my girlfriend and I went to Africa I had her use Magnus heads because of their reputation for being a good head.  Every one of her heads bent to some extent on the animals she shot.  Some, such as yours, bent quite dramatically!  I will not use them again.  I used Bear's for my shots and they suffered no damage whatsoever.

had the same problem as well...

Some of my stumping arrows have Magnus II's on them and I've never seen that!
Are these newer heads or old stock??

Call Magnus.  This would be one of those times I wouldn't hesitate to use the lifetime guarantee on the heads.

I've never had a problem with them.

But, it can happen to the best. My brother shot a goat with a Grizzly 160, and the tip curled over (he ended up getting the goat).

With those tripple-thickness heads, it can happen but it is rare.

got them from 3rivers about 6 weeks ago. same shippment as my mates. doesn't do much to build confidence in the buisness end of your arrow hey? might have to go back to blackstumps

may be that they are old heads.

There isn't a broadhead built that isn't fail-proof, though.

btw, all sharpening was done with a file and diamond hone. no overheating by grinding or anything

May be soft steel. Would love to send them back to Magnus and have a hardness test on that head. As others said , send it back and I am sure Magnus will stand behind it.

Maybe you should try a good three blade head on hogs ? I sure do like the Wensel Woodsmans. Just be sure to pyramid the tip, or it can curl too !

Also Bob Morrison is offering the new 300 Xtreema head that is bomb proof it appears ! I like it, just hoping he will offer one a little wider.... please Bob ???

Is it posible that they've been heated several times or that it could have been over heated while glueing on?
They can soften if over heated while mounting.
Also, is that a 100gr head? I have had the 100 gr heads do that while stumping if I hit a rock.
No problems at all with the 125's though.

OHHHHH NOOOOOOOOOOO! I just went to Magnus1

Never had that problem with Magnus broadheads. I've have with Zwickeys and especially Bears but never Magnus. I'd send them back to Mike. They are guaranteed for life. (nut)

Send that head back to Magnus, they will replace it with a new one! I sent one bent head in a few years back and they sent a new package of heads to replace the one that was bent like that! Great customer service!

I have a handful that I have bent like that, but, I also have alot of others including the woodsmans, snuffers etc that have broken too.
I still think Magnus is the best BH out there.

Mike Sohms is a stand up guy with a good product. Send it back and you'll get it replaced. Nothing wrong with Magnus broadheads, I've used them for years and only bent 1....... "after shooting it into a concrete wall"    :knothead:

I've got over 3 doz or so mounted and loose on misc. arrows and rely on them all.

I had one bend bad when I missed the target and hit a dirt bank.  Must have been a small stone in the dirt.  After I saw how bad it bent I bought some Ace and Eclipse broadheads.  I figure there is more steel up front to prevent this on the journeyman style heads.  So far it has proved true.
