Hopefully some of you can learn from my stupidity.  Got home this morning from scouting, and began finishing up some broadheads in preparation for the hunt in the morning.  I use a paper wheel for most of my sharpening, and it does a great job.  I always have used 2 blades in the past, but recently aquired some 4 blade eskimos, and wanted to give them a try.  Can you see where this is going?  Started sharpening the main blade, the bleeder caught on the wheel, and next thing i know I am staggering back, holding my head.  Lets just say I got VERY lucky.  Sucker couldve gone right into my forehead, or eye for that matter.  Doesnt look like I will need stiches, but for goodness sake, be careful getting ready to go out!  Its not only while hunting that we can get hurt, getting prepared can be just as dangerous!!  :banghead:

Hey, take it easy!  I am sure I am not the only one to pull stupid stunts on here!  In fact, I have read my share of stunts on this very website.  BBASSI, I think I will find a different avatar pic, I dont want to stare at that everytime I log on!

That is one reason I usually avoid power tools. That being said, I have a scar skipping across two fingers and on along the back of my hand. A few years ago, the head wasn't hot enough, the glue didn't melt, and the pliers slipped.

I was lucky, too!

holy mackerel..l gets me thinking

one time I was heating a head on the torch to get it off.  Turns out it wasn't put on with hot melt.  about 5 stupid determined minute later, the air pressure was more than epoxy could hold, and the head shot off super loud whizzing right past my ear, and fast as a rocket.  It is now embedded in the wall of my shop, forever reminding me to leave well enough alone.

Glad your OK!
