I'm trading for a Cook's Mountain El Puma longbow.  The riser appears to be Bubinga and the veneers appear to be a highly figured Bubinga, but I can't tell for sure.  I have two pics that were emailed to me.  I'll post them tonight.  I've always liked the looks of Roy's longbows.

Me too, wish he had a Web-Site ? Don't think he does anymore... Good Luck w/it...

Adam,

No, Roy doesn't have a website.  But Bull Mountain Archery is a sponsor and they carry Roy's bows.  There's a link on Bull Mountain's website where you can get contact info for him, including his phone number.

Hey wildman,
Normally I wouldn't say this....
but you are addicted bro!  You'll never find happiness in a bow, especially when you are switching them as often as you seem to.... just like life, real joy and happiness is found in relationships built over time.  Spend some time with one bow (alright, since it isn't a marriage, I'll let you go with two), stick it through the good days and bad.  If you are like me, you'll enjoy it more.

Mike,

You're not telling me anything I don't already know.  I'm actually narrowed down to 3 and eventually 4 bows.  I'll have two recurves, a Dale Dye and a Marriah Thermal, and two longbows, a Crow Creek Black Feather and the soon to be received El Puma.  I'm fine with those in my stable of bows.

Wildman good score,I've known Roy over 15 years he's a great guy and builds a nice bow..Keep us posted.......bowdoc

WildmanSC

bowdoc,

I'll post an evaluation of the bow after I receive it.  Roy is quite the gentleman.

Did you per chance know Bill Stewart.  Mr. Stewart mentored Roy in the bow building process.

Bill, I will see Roy this weekend at our state's annual rendezvous and relay your kind comments. He does make an excellent bow at reasonable prices.  Roy is a big supporter of archery clubs and is very generous in his donations for fund raisers.

...and you only got 4 bows?  If elk ninja knew what's in my stable, he'd think I was REALLY sick.

Oh, yeah...Bowdoc knows Bill Stewart and I'm sure he will fill us in.  Bowdoc is a big Bear fan as we know, and Mr. Stewart worked for Fred before going out on his own.

Blackhawk,

I have a rather unique Stewart MCTD Recurve.  He built it has a bow for a target shooter.  It is 68", 42#@28", the MC limbs are mounted on the belly side of the riser and the riser is Bolivian Rosewood.  It's a gorgeous bow.

Jedimaster,

If I must.  The pics don't do the Stewart justice.  In the pics the riser looks more like Bubinga than Bolivian Rosewood.  The bow's riser is actually much darker.  I think the red background may have influenced the color of the riser.

Bill I'm looking for a newer Marriah Thermal. If you're considering parting with yours shoot me a PM with the specs and price.

WildmanSC

Ghostman,

Mine hasn't been built yet.  I have one on order.    :)

Thanks!

I thought the limbs on the El Puma were figured Bubinga.  But it turns out they are actually figured Texas Slippery Elm, flat grain cut.  Below is a pic of a block of Texas Slippery Elm.
