Is this a repair?

I recently received this bow from a friend that passed away. It is a Massie recurve and it appears to be in excellent condition. On the riser, there is what looks to be two wooden pins. Do you think it has been repaired? There is no sign of damage or misuse any place else on the bow. My friend left several bows to me to distribute to other friends and instructed me to sell whatever bows that friends didn't want and use half of the money for my church and donate the rest to Compton. Just looking for opinions as to if this has been repaired or just something that Massie did on recurves. This is the only Massie recurve that I've seen. Thanks in advance for the input.

My guess is that's a repair.  I don't know anything about Massie bows, but I've seen a lot of bows and never seen anything like that before.  The repair seems to work, so they must have done a good job.  Probably fine to shoot or give to a friend, but doubt it would be worth much to sell if that is indeed a repair.

Yep.  Some kind of repair. Holes were bored and then either filled with epoxy or screwed and then capped with wood plugs. In some cases, just wood plugs are used. That kind of a repair is aimed at stopping/fixing a major crack/separation in the wood. Looks like whoever did it did a good job.  Should be safe to shoot, though it's monetary value suffers a bit.

Thank you for the input gentlemen. I can't in good conscience sell this bow, since I don't know the history behind the repair. I believe that I'm going to give it to one of the guys that my friend used to hunt with. I messaged him today and he said that he would like to have something of Scott's. Thanks again!>>>------->

I have one with a similar repair. Had a mule wreck in CO with it and it cracked down from corner of sight window.

I drilled it and put some roughed up brass rod in and put a handle wrap on it...
