What about the Bear Bearcat Recurve?
« on: December 05, 2024, 05:47:18 PM »
What is the history, fame, or benefits from it?

There's a reason I'm asking.

Sorry I don't have any info for you Terry,  but an old Army buddy gave me one for a shoulder replacement rehab bow and it worked splendidly!  Marked 30# but scaled at 40 on my scale at my draw.

I have a 1966 bearcat, 66" and 45 pounds at my draw length. It's certainly not the fastest bow out there, but it shoots well. I'll be finishing my bow season up carrying it and a quiver of Bear wooden arrows.

I have one that belonged to my Dad, I believe he got it in about 1968.He quickly moved on to a Super Kodiak 1 piece and then a SK take down.

I used the Bear Cat my first couple hunting seasons, it is a pretty great bow. The one I have is marked 42#

I have one in factory Bear camo and is a takedown.  50@28. Decent bow.  Thinking strongly about selling or trading because I seldom shoot it.  It does shoot true

Wow! No rest for the wicked!   :biglaugh:

Hang in there... I know all too well about the post-op (shoulder replacement late last summer).
Take it easy and don't rush anything.

I'm curious too.  I have one my son picked up at a garage sale or in one of his many trades a while back.  At 30#, I too used it for rehab after shoulder surgery.
