O.k. guys I am going to try and post some pics of my Bamboo backed Walnut and Osage R&D bow. It is 64" long from tip to tip. It is 1-1/2" wide at the fades to half way. Then they taper down to 7/16th of an inch at the tips. It is 54 lbs. at 28" draw. I have lost quite a bit of the R&D during tillering. Next one I try I will leave more of the deflex out of it to see if it helps. The bamboo I scraped and used a Red Mahogany stain on then I sealed it with Three light coats of Poly. The Osage I gave it a coat of Tongue oil and wiped it off the next day and gave it another coat of Poly. My tips are African blackwood. This piece of Blackwood had some sap on it and tried to use it also as you can see. The Walnut handle was a piece that had a nice feather grain in it. She shoots real nice and seems to really launch an arrow. Let me know what you think. Dean

Thanks guys for the nice compliments on the bow. I need to thank several guys that I have met here on Trad Gang that have helped me in my bow making but one guy that I really have to mention is Mr. Bob Barnes. Bob Cat I believe he is called sometimes. Bob is the person who has taught me how to do these glue up bows. He is an outstanding teacher and would not hesitate to help me when I needed help. Thanks again Bob. Dean

Nice job on the bow Dean!  That's a beauty! Loks like the tillering straightened it out well. What kind of wood is that in the handle...walnut? Very nice tips also!  Great work Dean, Matt

Thanks guys again for the nice compliments. And Matt the handle is Walnut. I am very lucky when it comes to fancy Walnut. I have a friend who owns a sawmill and when he gets some highly figured walnut he lets me know. Dean
