Are there any sources of information on how to build solid fiberglass bows or limbs?

I didn't claw my way to the top of the food chain to eat vegetables!

gb

Thanks Apex for the reply and link.

Are you sure you meen SOLID fiberglass?? Like the fiber glass they use on the kids bows?

gb

Yes, I'd like a heavier version of my 60 inch 35 pound Ben Pearson.

well, the only way to get a heavier version is to buy one...I came across a 60lbs at 28 inch ben pearson Strato Jet solid fiberglass recurve at a swap meet, and love it! (I got it for 20 bucks, and its in great condition)...building it would take a lot of specialized fiberglass working tools, as well as a source of 'glass that is thicker than we have normally available today (as opposed to 40 years ago, which is when my bow is from).
I personally think that it's cost prohibitive to make a solid fiberglass bow out of your home shop...Hope this helps,
Derek

gb,
Wood is cheaper than glass and easier to work too. Sndwitched between a couple glass lams it makes for a lighter, faster limb with less hand shock. Im just curious why you want a solid glass bow. Durability?

gb

Yes they are rugged, weather resistant, even waterproof. Its hard to make a mistake that will damage one.
