For all you Bear afficianodos out there:  I was just in a home where a Bear bow, looked like a target model, was hanging on the wall.  Pretty pristine condition, too.  It had Bear Archery with serial numbers and said Canada 1953.  I don't know all that much history of the Bear company but I would have suspected for that time frame manufacturing would have been in Grayling, MI.
This particular bow had what appeared to be a chrome stabalizer knob attached just above the handle on the back of the bow and a very large sight window, too.
Just curious about it's background.

Christopher- The 1953 date is the date of the Canadian patent for the Bear product name. All Bear bows made from that point until around 1978 when the company relocated from Michigan to Florida had it. You are right about place as well, any bow with that patent info was made in Grayling. Should have been a model name on the top limb somewhere.                         Grant
