Today I turn the big 60, as the saying goes "if I new I was going to live this long I would have taken better care of myself"    :p

Actually I am in pretty good shape and thank the Lord for that.

The last few months have been a big change in my life. I was down sized March 6th from the Company I worked at for 22 years and am trying to decide if I am retired or not.

I have always thought I would build bows full time in retirement and am leaning that direction right now. I am using the out placement classes provided by my previous company to help with "good" decision making and feel everything will work out.

Hopeyou all have a great day as well!!

Happy Birthday Dave.
Hope all works out for you. I was "re assigned" just two weeks ago so I know what you're dealing with.
Best of luck!

Dave, Happy Birthday and many more more to come!!  Retire, do what you want (and can afford). I retire from the Military with 24 years, worked for the Government for about 6-7 year and quit a few years back, I enjoy huntin' fishin' and traveling. We don't live forever, life is more than goin' to work everyday!!  Good Luck!

What Snag said. That down sizing may have been the best birthday present and open opportunities that you never thought of before.

Dave, Happy Birthday! I am two years behind you. Dave, why not work the company you started? Everything should be pretty much in place. Do you still have that 52" Fedora? Bob

One bow. One arrow. My ideal.

Dave N./TX

Shadow - No sorry I do not have that Fedora any longer. I need to update my web site - I do have a few I could put up there.

Everyone - thanks for the BD wishes, and right now I am leaning toward just going for the bow building and enjoying life. I was not enjoying my job for a long time and got an excellent package when they let me go, that was the main reason I stuck around the last few years. The working world is getting to be a weird place when the globalization of most all industries, Getting up in the middle of the night for phone calls to China and early morming calls to France. I am glad that is done!!

Caddo - hope when you retire you will start making arrows again, still the best I have bought.

Thought I would update this post. I have retired, built a new house and have moved to Athens, TX. Just finishing up a new 30x40 shop and am building bows. Life has slowed down since leaving the Corp world and can not say I miss that.

Thanks for all the good wishes.
