We had a meeting today for our chapter of our state bowhunting organization. We ended it up with a BBQ of venison shishkabobs and a "Recurve shooting fest".

It was a cornucopia of bows. A general "free for all". Everyone brought one or two bows, and it was just a "grab one and shoot" event. I did something I never should have done....

I picked up a Black Widow MAII that Droptine59 had out there.

Now this was not my first experience with a Widow mind you. My first experience with a Widow did not impress me. It was heavy and heavy. I did not dig it....and to me....first impressions are everything.

BUT...this time, I commented that I had to try again to see what all the hype was about. I picked Droptine's MAII up and my eyes immediately lit up. Man!...This is light!....

A quik test draw.....and I was again curious about this "Black Widow" thing.

I had been shooting my Super Kodiak, and a Grizzly that Droptine had refinished and given to a friend of ours as a gift and was flinging some cedars pretty well. I put the cedars on this Widow and proceeded to drive some tacks!! Everyone there was wondering when the heck "I learned to shoot?"...

Stupid Widow!!     :knothead:

Now I'll have to actually contemplate getting one of the damn things. I feel like I've been assaulted by the BORG....resistance is futile. I really tried not to want one....but then I had to go there. My better half said it best when I tried to explain it to her. She just said, "stupid dummy head"

Oh man, gatherings like that are dangerous.

Trust me Leo, nobody was more surprised than me.

I was warned early on not to try out any bows that cost more than I wanted spend.     :goldtooth:

I bought the first one I ever shot, an MA3.  Since then its been the bow by which all others are compared.
Silence over speed.  Heavier arrows never hurt.

Raineman

Easy now folks. I am far from laying down that kind of coin on my budget, but I did throw a trade offer at him. However, I think I was too late.

As I said, I was trying to resist. Now there is just  ANOTHER bow on my radar to grab when I can.

Great. Just what I needed. Something ELSE on my list. Something else to "waste my time"    ;)   looking for.

Never ends does it?

Man this is fun.......note to self.......stupid dummy head    :knothead:

JL

Hell Jim. I got $20 towards your new Widow...

Don't think that will even buy you those spider string silencers thingys....

Better get to twisting em up hoss. That's a lot of strings...
