I have written before about my admiration of Steve's bows. The simple quality and workmanship are what traditional archery should be, in my opinion. Steve and I are friends, I consider him to be one of those solid, trustworthy friends, not just an acquaintance. But we don't talk enough...we are both busy running business's, but that's no excuse. Sadly, are conversations are few. But I want to relate to you a text "conversation" Steve and I recently had:

ME: Can you send me 2 strings for my Ramer?

Steve: Will do

ME: Thank you. How much?

That was it. No answer. Today 2 strings showed up. No invoice.

Now, before you think I'm a weasel, I'll compensate Steve. I wouldn't take advantage of a friendship like that. But you just can't put a price on a reliable friend...and an awesome bowyer. :archer:

I've had nothing but good experiences with Steve.

I have had several of Steve's bows and still have 2 Whispers. Great guy to deal with, talk to and work with when your not sure you know what you want. He is top shelf..........
In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities. In the expert's there are few...So the most difficult thing is always to keep your beginner's mind...This is also the real secret of the arts: always be a beginner.  Shunryu Suzuki

Steve is a good dude and in my honest opinion the very best at what he does

I have two bows that I use, a Ramer and a Shelton.  The rest are collecting dust.  Steve is as good as they come.  We've had a lot of guests at Shrewhaven Lodge over the years and my two favorite conversationalists that I took a day off from hunting to sit and jaw with on different occasions were Fred Asbell and Steve Turay.

Yeah, good guy and excellent craftsman for sure, although he really needs to consider changing his name to southern mist, lol

Steve is top notch.  Look no further than his deeds, reputation, and customer satisfaction.  The Hill grave restoration was noble work no one else wanted to tackle, and he did so gladly.  He can share my fire any day.   :archer2:

YUP, Steve is a great craftsman. Wife bought me a Baraga for one of our anniversaries. Killed many deer with it. Steve has to be a good guy, he is a former Marine, lol.

Who else knows what MIST stands for. Hint the ST is for Steve Turray.

MI .....I'm going to guess "Michigan"?

Stoped in at his shop several years ago when he was still in Ishpiming, had a great time looking at his bows and listing to a few story's. Man I could of stayed there forever listing. Great guy.

I've known Steve for several years and own two of his bows. He is top notch and builds fine bows. I am not at all surprised that he did this for you. I just wish I had more money to spend on his bows.

The MI stands for his uncle Mike.  :wavey:  They started building bows together.

Steve is a great guy ! I absolutely love my Baraga. I always enjoy talking with him at the gatherings.

Steve is as good as it gets.  I had a Ramer on order with him, he called a year ago in  June asking if I would be at Comptons, unfortunately my schedule didn't permit.  When I asked if he wanted my debit card number, he asked "do you have a check"? I replied yes, he said put one in the mail, and he'd ship the bow out, somewhere along the ways they crossed paths. He is truly a great man.

Too many bows to list, and so many more I want to try!  Keep the wind in your face, and your broadheads sharp.

That's why I'm awaiting my 5th bow from him! I guess I'll probably want #6 sometime in the future.

Love my Classic American. Love even more the phone conversations with Steve. He has called as a follow up just to see how I was making out with the bow, and then pleasant conversation and stories. A true gentleman and fantastic craftsman. I've already ordered another American for my son for Christmas. Dont think I'll ever buy anything else other than Northern Mist.

I have never had the privilege of shooting one of Steve's  bows, but sure would like to one day. They seem to be a well built bow by an amazing individual.  :clapper:
