2219 to much spine?

I have a chance to get several doz 2219  for real cheap. I was wondering if the are going to but way to stiff of spine for my BW SA II 53#@28 my draw with 200gr to 350gr up front for some EFOC. I know a lot of guys are loading the front of carbons up but I didn't know if it would be wise on aluminum arrows. Off of Kell's site on the wood arrow chart with 200gr heads @ 29" arrow it says I should be around the 81#spine and 2219 are 95# spine so with around 300gr up front I would think the 2219 might do the job. Yes they are going to be over 700gr finished arrow or just under 14gpp. But I like to be between 11-15gpp and that will fit the bill.

You should be shooting a 29" 2018 with 125gr tip.  You just can't go by the wood spine chart to choose the proper aluminums.

I beleave a 2018 would be to weak out of a Widow being cut past center, At least thats what I have been told by several people. And for another thing I want heavy FOC arrow.

I used to shoot them out of a 55# SAII. I draw 28" but the shafts were 31" with 190gr points. A better shaft would be a 2018 or a 2216.

A 2018 30" with a 125gr point flew great from my 55# widow.

I guess a lot of people are getting on the heavy FOC bandwagon? Whith the proper aluminum, and 125gr up front there is no real need to load the front up like the carbon shooters do, and they do it cause they have to so they get the shaft weak enough to be shootable from a stickbow, and to add the needed weight to get the arrow weight up to where it needs to be.  A 2018 with a 125gr point will give you a better shooting arrow, flatter trejectory, and better penetration.

I shoot the 2219´s cut to 27-1/4" with 175 grain tip out of a 66# @ 27" Morrison.  I think they would be stiff for a 53# bow.

Thjey are too stiff, according to the charts, but with the Widow being cut past center and with a fastflight string, you might be surprised. If they are cheap enough, get them anyway. If they don't work you can always get your money back out of them. I don't think you will need all that weight up front, either. Try full length with a 175 grain point and see what happens.

think they would be too stiff. but if you get them and are happy, don't pay attention to the charts. shoot what works for you. by the way. I have 20ea XX75 camo 2219 cut 29 1/8 if you need more. will sell em cheap.

I shoot a 53# PSA V at 30" I have shot 2219 in the past. With the weight up front you are talking about and start at full lenght you should be good. they will end up heavy

How about 2020 with 125gr-200gr cut to 28.5"?

I shoot 2219 with insert, 100 gr steel adapter, and 125 WW out of my recurves that range from 55# to 75#. The four fletch arrow comes out about 730 gr. However, the shaft is 32 inches long. I primarily use a 65# bow. I found them  to be a very quiet and lethal set up. Mike

I shoot 2018's cut 29.5 BOP from 56lb SA111 and they seem a little stiff with reg adapters and 125 grain heads. Seem to shoot great with 125 grain steel adapters and 125 grain glue on heads. I think I shot 2219's from my 62 lb limbs shoot best heavy up front also. I think 2219 to stiff for you but who knows lotta folks come up with different arrow combos from same bows.

I used to shoot 29" 2219's out of a 70# Black Widow with 160 grain Snuffers. You are way too stiff.

You're gonna have to leave those 2219s full-length and add a lot of weight to the tip to weaken the spine enough.  It will make your arrows very heavy, and I wouldn't recommend it.

How reasonable is reasonable? If it costs more to make them work out of your bow what have you saved? I personally would rather be shooting game or 3d targets than trying to make arrows work in my bow. Been there tried that.
