snake skin ????????

guy's and gal's at the pig-gig a got my first ever diamond back rattle snake. the rancher told me to flesh and streach and rub borax in to skin and let dry now that i have done that my question is .
1 did i do the right thing
2 if i just put the skin on a nice board will it be OK.  thanks for any help.

Here is what I would do:
Wash the borax off.
Dry with a paper towel.
Roll it up and put it in a zip lock.
Store it in the freezer until you need it.

I shot a snake once.  I never used borax.  Just rolled it up and put it in the freezer.
When I was ready, I cut it down the center, and put it on my bow with TB2 or TB3.  Easy as that.
Jesus died for us!  Following him brings us closer to God.  Think about it!

Do like gwhunter said, wash off the borax, dry, roll it and put in zip lock in the freezer.  When you're ready to use it soak it in water and then dry it with a paper towel.  I use titebond II.  Do a search for applying snakeskin.  It's not difficult.  If you need more detail email me at hunter13@cox.net
