This is probably the best log I have split to date Roy.  It yielded four great billet.  Two are a little thin and will have to have a pieced glued on for the handle, but the other two are looking real good at this point.

That's ok Charlie, you can send me the two thin ones then:)

Charlie looks like you need to clean the trash out of your yard! (Top right corner of your stave picture)

Staves look sweet too.

Roy from Pa

I didn't see that. Way to go Charlie, posting wheel bow pictures. LMAO

LOL...Guys that is there for a reason.  That was gifted to me for part many years (15) to be exact.  I put it right there and it has not moved since.  I am trying to see when and if it will blow up.  That is the same string and all on that bow.  They sure don't make them like they used too...lol

Learned a valuable lesson today! I your gonna walk away from your glued stack after you set your riser on it you better have it secure.

I walked away and started glueing the belly lam and glass and I hear a clunk it fell of hit my stool and continued to the garage floor. Snapped off the feathered fades I almost started crying.

I ended up saving the bow though, I was lucky this time I had another riser cut and ready to go. Not the riser I wanted in the bow but its better than wasting all that glass and wood.

Roy from Pa

Ouch.. I did that to my yew bow, sat it on the vice and turned to walk away and bang on the floor. Got a coupld nicks but I fuggered what the heck it's a go bow and gonna get a lot of nicks in with it's time afield.

What did I do today?

Hmmm...I worked on my school paper a little bit and then afterwards since it was decent out today decided to work on my bow a little bit, was tillering the upper arm, removing wood, flexing it and checking, and about the third time I pulled it back to exercise it...I now have a broken bow...   :knothead:    :(

20+ hours of hard work only to have nothing to show for it but a memory and a hard lesson learnt: Always check for hairline cracks while tillering and seal them! Yeah it broke on the side in the middle of the limb. My backing was good and I didn't violate a ring or knot.

Hey roy,In the pic with the string locked at draw it looks like the bow is centered in the holder and you are pulling 1-1 1/2 to the right of center on the string. Is that set for your 3 finger under hold figuring the pass at 1-1 1/4" above center?Wouldn't that put the pressure on the ring finger location?Asking because i pull at the middle finger location--Joe

Here is a sneak peek of what was working on today. Almost done putting on the truoil.

Roy from Pa

No because I added 3/8th of an inch above the arrow shelf for where my nock point on the string will be. So it's at the center of my middle finger. The line to the right is for split finger.

Today I made my hot box for baking bows. It is 80 inches long by 18 inches wide, and 26 inches tall. Tomorrow I will put the light bulbs in and get it wired up. Have to figure out how many to put in the top of it. It has all been insulated with 1 1/2 foam board and then lined with aluminum tape. Hopefully it looks right. Here is some pictures of it....

Roy from Pa

Very nice, Justin. I would do 3 or 4 light sockets. If it gets too hot you can always unscrew a bulb or two.

Nice, Kelly.

Millhimes

Got it roy-thanks

Box looks good justin

Skin looks good kelly,or is it one of john's trick's?After seeing him do that i can't tell for sure.
