My Son will be pleased to hear your nice comments. I'll be sure and share those later today.

John, why is that you best? I've seen tons of your bows so why is that one the best ever?
Whatcha basing this on, hand shock, speed, no stack, feel, shootablity or etc?

Thanks all.  Yes Joe, all those.  Mostly, it is good wood, good design, and good implementation.  But in the end, it's the shootability that counts.  For a 47# bow, it is the most pleasant and quickest I have ever made.  I have no scientific reasoning behind it  :)
Take a kid hunting!

Nice Joe I can't wait to see it finished upped. Your son did you proud on that one.

John that is a nice looking bow. I don't know if I have the guts to burn up a bow like that, but man that looks sweet.

Kenny nice call.

I spent all day working on my first caul for some fiberglass bows. Wow did this take some time getting it all lined up and drilling. Got a system now so the second one I make shouldn't take this long...

I scraped a bit on a 42" long bow. I am shooting for an 20" and what ever poundage I can get. It is for my 4yr old nephew. I will get some pics up later.

But I have learned a bit on this little bow.

the first was I had it crack across the fades early in the tillering. I chased down one ring and got rid of the crack. I am out to about 15" right now and it drawing very nice. I just hope I don't make it to heavy of a draw.

The second is that if your tiller looks off but one limb has a natural flipped tip and the other does not make the match or the till will look real bad.

at brace the flipped side looked stiff and the string was much closer to the belly. I flip the other side after scraping on that side and it was not make much difference. I fiip the other side with some heat and by hand. It was like magic the till looked close to spot on. I just had to even each limb out a bit.

Now I am just trying to bring it in. yep that is what I did tonight and last night a bit.

Ok this is the little guy that is keeping me from working on a swap bow.

It is almost ready for the finishing touches. I need to get a couple of more inchs out of it. And then I will try my hand at skinning a bow.

Hey, that's pretty cute Kelly!  Where's it at for poundage?
My nephew has been bugging me for a year to make him one.  I've even got a really short osage post that I split about a year ago just for a couple youth bows, but haven't gotten the courage to try one yet.

"If your work speaks for itself, don't interrupt."

One of two things will happen; it'll either work or it won't.

KellyG

Cabbage I have not weighted the pull on it yet. I am just trying to get to the draw length I wan't. Then I will let him try to pull it back and take weight off if it needs it.

The one thing I really plan on is tiller out a few inches past his draw for I now he will grow. Once I get the weight I will let you know.

Got me four real nice billets split out to start on a couple of bows.  Going to be a ring chasing weekend...woohoo
