wood arrow selection?

I have a HH badger on the way next week.

It is 60#'s @ 26.6", I draw about 26".

I like to shoot 160 gr. heads.
It has a regular Hill riser with a slightly dished grip.

Any hints on spine for this bow? both softwoods and hardwoods? I also like to shoot tapered arrows.

About 65-70 pounds.  The extra spine is to accommodate the extra head weight.  You might be able to get by with less.  Lean toward the heavier side if you will be shooting a fast flite string.  I've found my Hill longbows to accept a wider range of spine than one would expect.  I shoot 65-75# spine out of my 55# and 60# Hills.  That's with a 28-inch draw and 130-160 grain heads.  Also have some 55-60# 5/16 shafts that shoot very nicely out of the 55# bow, but one would expect that.

Cary, how far to center is the bow cut? I would try 55# - 60# arrows. I have some if you need any.

LOL, I post the same time as Orin and look at the difference we provided.

-further from center (the shelf), the lighter spine arrow (more paradox is required).
-shelf cut to center will take same spined arrows as draw# (less paradox for the arrow.
- add about 5# for your fast flight string.

This is why I would start with the 55 - 60.
