Are any of you guys going on the week #1 pig-gig hunt? Dad and I are heading down to San Antonio tomorrow morning, and I can't wait to hunt some hogs again!

Tyler -- There are somany things I want to do...just not enough vacation time. I won't be able to go this year.
Judging from your inspirational quote from the Ramblun Rednecks, you will most likely be reading the book "...And the Horse You Rode in ON!!" on your way down there.
Have some great fun. Mike

doug77,
If there are going to be javilina be sure to take a mouth varmit call, like a squeeling rabbit. if you get some javies in the brush or spook some start blowing on the call as hard and fast as you can. Make a terrible racket. Be ready if it works one or more will come charging in. Never had so much fun hunting before.

Mike- I strongly believe that "...And the Horse You Rode in On!" should be mandatory reading material in high school and middle school english classes.
Thomas- It will be good to see you guys again. See you on Sunday

yes Javis will spook at human scent, although how they can smell you I don't know with the way they smell, and have poor eye sight, but don't count on it, they seem to see when they want to. I have hunted them probably every year for the last 10-12 years and it's a blast every time. They are good to eat too, anyone tells you differant does'nt know what their talking about.

I'll be there week #3 at the Vinson Ranch.  Doug, you will be hunting the Chaparoosa Ranch west of La Pryor (week #2).  I hunted there two years ago and took two javelina.  They were THICK!  The guys took about 65 javies in two weeks!  Barry says the hogs numbers are up since I was there.

Gary this is my first hog/javilina hunt and i am really looking forward to the hunt especialy the javies.

The Chaparoosa is huge, something like 80,000 acres.  Gene and Barry will probably have around 20,000 or so for you guys to run around in. Here's a link to some photos taken on my trip to the Chaparoosa:  http://www.brothersofthebow.com/html/texas06.html
