I wondered if anyone used olivewood for lam bows? Either in risers or limb laminations. It looks like some nicely figured wood, just don't ever remember seeing it used. I assume it would work ok just wondering before I buy some. Any pics of it in use appreciated. Steve

Haven't seen any pictures of olivewood, but it has been on my "to do" list for a while, and after I finish up  this weeks bocote-ebony bow the nest will have olivewood (with juniper limbs).

I made some knife handles from olive.
Turned out great, but I was told that the wood is hard to glue.
Didn't have any problems though. But it might be a different story for more "working" objects like risers or limbs.

It sure is one hard wood to work with though   :D

Don Assenheimer uses olive wood for his recurve limbs and they look pretty good. You can check out his web-site and get a good look at the limbs.Google Assenheimer bows and you will find their home page.

Bob Morrison made me a beautiful Olivewood riser for my Shawnee. Nicely figured, I believe he mentioned it was imported so I stretch the truth and tell admirers that it came from the Holy Land. I don't really know the specific origin but I imagine it has more mojo that way.  I'll try and post later when my boy brings back my camera tomorrow.

Mark,
Some of the Olivewood does indeed come from the Holy Land

I have seen some Silvertips in Olivewood.  I think they have some pics on their web site. Looks like some nice stuff.
