Hi guys-
I am one of the growing masses who has decided to take up trad archery after being introduced to archery by the use of training wheels. I still have never fired a trad bow. Just last week I decided to start my collection of trad bows and I have 3 on the way!
I have purchased a Bear Kodiak Hunter, a Ben Pearson Rogue, and a Red Wing Hunter. My question is - what do you guys use to hang your bows on? I gotta display these beatiful puppies once they get here.

Mike Bolin

Well it looks as if you are starting off your collection right! I think you will really like the Redwing Hunter......heck, you ain't gotta cull in that bunch. You might want to try the search function at the top of the page and just type in "bow racks". Be sure to specify which forum or she'll run thru all of 'em! There have been many posts with some really unique ideas for bow racks. Good luck-Mike

Deadbolt

i just hang em on some rubber coated workshop hooks that I screwed into a 1x3 thats bolted in the wall.

Welcome to the camp fire Bill.

Dang! Three bows! I wish you were my neighbor and left-handed.

I just sent a thread named "Wall of Bows" to the top. It will have some pictures to give you some ideas. Of coarse you do understand that you have to post pictures of your new bows....right?

I use the same sort of setup as Deadbolt. I just have the hooks screwed into studs in the wall above my bed, never know when you might need you bow real fast! They look real nice too.
NEVER lean your bow in a corner! You may already know that, but it is worth repeating.
Enjoy your new bows, Juniper Bow

Bill,
Use can always use some of those whitetail feet for your rack. The wife will allow that in certain parts of the house. Let's see....three bows......1 1/2 half deer should do it. Show pictures.

Hang them Horizontal.
Some hang them vertical by the string with the bow unstrung, but I feel this is the same as standing them in a corner. The weight is suported by the bottom nock this way.

Doctari,

I'm assuming that must be homemade- Wow! On the off chance that someone actually offers this bow rack for sale, please tell us how to contact this person. That bow rack would look awesome in my great room.

I picked up a few of these off that big auction site. They are nice.

I added some felt for added limb protection which was a snap.....

Nice looking rack Doctari also..........

Labs, That would be me. I make them out of cedar.

Great Ideas guys. I'm real new so I didn't know about the corner thing at all. I would love one of those racks. Tim - I saw the ones on the auction site that you speak of. I am considering them.
Doctari- how much would one of your custom racks cost that holds 4 or 5 bows?

Thanx again guys. Great site-

Nice rack,Most all bow manufactures in the 50's and 60's supplied bow racks to there dealers, which hung the bows from the upper limb tip string noc with no string on the bows. These type racks took up very little wall display space (5 bows per 16" wide space cieling to floor for length).Hanging the bow from the tips rather then laying flat kept them from getting rub marks on the back of the new finish. It also kept the bows straight. The bow was kinda locked into a taperd V groove and had to be lifted up a little to remove it from the rack. That kept em from getting knocked over too.But they are no where's near as nice looking as above racks. If you could send me a pm (and I can find it I will send you a couple pics)or I can figure out how to load pics in here I would be happy to show you some repro's that work great as well as a pic of an original supplied by Bear Archery 1959 vintage.bd
