We've had quite the ice storm this week. Temps weren't bad today and things are starting to melt so I hit the deer woods this afternoon.

Supposed to snow tonight and tomorrow. I plan on hitting it early.

No Jeff. It's not supposed to do that in Oklahoma. That's why a big part of the state was without electricity earlier this week.      

I'm looking forward to the snow.

If I want to see Ice and Snow, I'll drive up to the Sierra Mountains....
   When I get up and see a little frost, thats enough for me....
   I was just out taking a few shots with just a shirt on....A nice 55 deg.

Snow is a good thing, but I feel terrible for all the folks without power. I wish I could send them some warmth.

In Nova Scotia, Canada we have about 2 feet of the white stuff in the woods now and some areas in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick are supposed to be getting another 20 inches or so on Sunday night Monday morning.  Deer season is closed here and the only things open now are waterfowl, bunnies and coyotees.  Too much snow for a cripple like me to slug around in.  I envy you people who do not get this white crap.  Man I hate it.

I was working in Tulsa last year and we had some snow and ice, but man you guys got blasted this time! We have snow on the way here in Indiana and I'll be out in the morning!

I heard you folks out that way got hammered. Hope every thing is well. I can remember going hunting in those icestorms. Once I drove up a hill only to do a 360 back down the hill. I put a climbing stand up started going up a tree got up around 6' and had the stand slide down the tree.I didn't see all the ice on the trunk.I guess I learned my lesson. The chrunch, chrunch, going in must scare the deer away too.Great pics glad all that stuff is melting so you can get back to some serious hunting. Good Luck.

Snow, Ice ??? You guys are gonna have to define these for me.  It has been too long since I have had to deal with it.  
When the temps plummet to 50 degrees folks go nuts here in SA.
Was out this evening in a cool drizzle and it is nice to be able to wear wool in layers, and no mosquitoes.

Here in Tulsa, we're just now starting to get all the power back on.  Three days without electricity is enough for me.  Fortunately it hasn't been that cold.

Yep, can't even sneak up on a glass of water here.  'Course that's usually the case with me anyway.  Just about got hit by a falling limb the other evening out in the timber...YIKES!

I didn't lose power this time at my apartment in Tulsa. The last two ice storms that hit further south in the state took our power out at my place for 9 days each, and left us without water!

We have another 10" of snow and sleet/freezing rain/high winds coming in tonight and tomorrow.  Just finished fixing my snowblower this afternoon.  Spent an hour or so near day's end standing in a foot of snow on top of my backyard picnic table, shooting my longbow with some old  practice arrows at two frozen Halloween pumpkins 15 yards away near the backyard apple tree.  Pumpkins make great targets if you pick a spot and forget about all that deep arrow-eating snow on either side of them, lol.  Deer tracks all around the pumpkins and tree...pretty cool to know they come in at night, only a few feet from the house.  

As I was finishing up my few last shots a flock of turkeys flew over the yard and landed in the pines only 50 yards from me.  Watched them fidget nervously in the branches and yelp to each other for 5 minutes or so, then they all took off through the hardwoods heading for the field out back.  Reminded me of the Wizard of Oz movie...quite the sight as the sun was setting and all those big bird bodies and flapping wings silouetted against the sky.  Away, my pretties!  lol...

Sure feel bad for you Oklahoma-area folks.  We had a similar ice storm about 10 years ago, went without heat and power for 10 days.  Had to melt snow for wash/flush water and cooked on a backup woodstove using punky wood encased in ice.  Lost most of the tops on my big hardwoods in the yard, not to mention most of my roof gutters.  Never was more glad to finally see the powerline repair boys show up.  Yup, that was quite a time.  

Hang in there...it'll get better.
