Turkey feathers - now what?

I have the plummage from two wild turkeys one a hen the other a jake.  I pulled the all the wing flights feathers (primaries and secondaries) plus the tail feathers.  As I understand it the primaries are best for fletching.  Secondaries will work.  I can I use the tail feathers??  Would the work for Flu-Flu's?  Between the primaries and secondaries there is definitely a difference in texure and stiffness.  I would assume that you would not want to have both fletched on the same arrow???  Any pointers or past posts would be appreciated.   Thanks.

p.s. The birds were killed with a shotgun, but the my 13 year old daughter was still thrilled to death that she bagged one on her own!

Hi Cris,
Naww, dont fool with grinding feathers until you try the method espoused by our very own Ferret, aka Micky Lotz.  Get on Micky's archery how to page and it shows "stripping turkey feathers".
This is real easy once you get the hang of it. Look in the How To section here on Trad gang.
You use fletch tape to attach stripped feathers to the shaft, real easy!
