First of all I would like to say thank you to all Trad Gangers.  I have been visiting this site frequently for the past year, but had never joined.  This has been my first year getting into traditional archery.  I decided to go all out and make my own wooden arrows.  If I was going to do it, I was going to do it right.  I purchased a Bear 50# Super Kodiak for my first trad bow.  I practiced with the bow all year waiting for the season.   After 2 shots, I became discouraged and disapointed with 2 injured deer.  My friend had convinced me to give up and get my compound bow out for the rut.  I took it on one hunt, and realized that wasn't what I wanted to do.  The following evening I took my recurve back out.  I had a nice eight point buck come within 13 yds.  I launched another arrow.  The shot appeared to be a little far back.  Just as the deer went out of sight I heard it crash.  Unsure of the shot I waited for the next morning.  I located the deer at the spot of the crash.  To top it off I captured the hunt on video.  Thanks for all the wonderful stories that kept my motivation up.  Keep the great info coming, I'm hooked on Trad.  I'm going to try and post my first pic.

I hope it is resized correct

The losses are tough, but that makes your great buck even sweeter.  Nothing beats a shot inside 10 yards!  That's when it is fun.  Congrats.

Nice buck, congrats on your first!

Its not about the weapon used, its about the adventure involved.

Dandy buck. There is definitly a learning curve with this sport. You are getting closer. Keep after it.
There is always someone that knows more than you, and someone that knows less than you, so you can always learn and you can always teach

It doesn't matter how or what you shoot, as long as you hit your target.

Alright! Gets in your blood, huh? I bought a compound last week to flip it on the bay. I hunted with wheels for 20 years but that bow (all compounds now) felt as foreign as could be. Make mine a stick and string please...

Nice deer!
