I wanted a simple cresting pattern with a two tone stain. I like how they came out. I'm going to add two black 5" feathers and one grey barred cock feather with black Marco nocks. They should look pretty sweet. I'll try to remember to update the pics of the finished shafts once I get the feathers and nocks from 3 Rivers.

Thanks, everyone. I'm enjoying the wood arrow building process.

Those look sweet!  What is the dark stain you used?  I've been going to a more simple cresting pattern on my arrows as well, sometimes simple is better.  Looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Too many bows to list, and so many more I want to try!  Keep the wind in your face, and your broadheads sharp.

Thanks! The darker stain is Minwax wood finish, Honey 272. I like the deep, rich color of that stain too.

Nice, my sort of taste in cresting and stain. Are the shafts fir or spruce?

Those are fir shafts.

I really like the dark stain with a simple crest pattern. I am another who finds beauty in simplicity.
