Buying broadheads for the first time in 20 years. Surprised to see costs up to 30 dollars a broadhead. I'm talking about two blade sharpenable heads.

Anyway, what should I expect to pay for a good solid head? And what are your favorites?

Thank you!

I've used Zwickey and Magnus in the past.

I use magnus stingers - can get them online for $25-30 for three.  I know you can spend more (or less), but these work for me and I don't like sharpening.

Stay sharp, Kenny.

Really like the Cutthroats I got from RMS Gear last year. They're pretty easy to maintain their edge/sharpness also. Looking forward to seeing how the handle Gobblers in than a month.

I have a variety. I have been happy with Woodsman, Simmons, Zwickey.  I think as with most things these days you can spend a wide range on a wide range of products.  I think most well known bh companies are producing really good heads. Pick your price range and look for the size, weight and shape you like.

I use German Kinetics, which are one of the more expensive heads, and Magnus Stingers, and Wasp Traditional, and old style Eclipse werewolf broadheads. They all work great. There is no broadhead made that is sharper out of the box than the German Kinetic heads!!!

I have bought and tested a bunch over the years. I enjoy trying new ones but overall Ace heads are my favorite.

I am a huge fan of Zwickey Eskimo, but I don't get their slogan; "In a business where the best is none too good"? It is a lousy motto but the points are durable, accurate and CHEAP (comparatively).

Zwickey Eskimos and Ace are hard to beat .
There price is reasonable as well .

I shoot some of the high-priced single bevel heads, but I always have at least one four-blade Zwickey delta in my quiver.  Zwickeys are excellent heads at a good price. I also like STOS and in three blades, Woodsmans and Snuffers, all reasonably priced heads, IMO.

There are quite a few very capable broadheads available for 5 bucks a head or a bit less.  Zwickey, Tusker, Ace all come to mind.  Woodsmans are a favorite but will run you more like 7 bucks a head.

Jumping to 10-15 bucks a head gets you some real interesting high quality heads like VPA or Simmons Sharks.  That's about my personal comfort threshold right there.

To each as own, a lot is personal preference.  I am just as confident on stand with a Tusker as I am a VPA, it's just as much about my mood as anything.

Zwickey or Ace still working for me.

Most any of them will get the job done, but of all that I've tried my hat is off to the cutthroats. And I've had about all of them. They are a little more expensive but are rock solid, machined out of one solid piece of steel. very easy to sharpen and have a lifetime warranty. Just my opinion though.

My current favorites are Grizzlys and Cutthroats.

The broadheads I am using now (Mowoc Dots) were from a lot Larry Whiffen Jr. found in his garage from his  Dad's stock and I paid $2.50 each (for around four dozen heads).

I use Hi-Precision 125 gr heads for small game I paid $1.50 each for.

I've pretty much come full circle with broadheads. It's my opinion there are many good heads available. Magnus, Woodsman and Muzzy Phantoms to name a few. However, it's Zwickeys for me.

For pure value, Ace is hard to beat.  They are a tough, durable head that sharpens very well and holds its edge.  I carried the Ace Express for several years and it will always be one of my total confidence heads.  I like heavy heads and have been shooting Grizzly Kodiaks and Instincts for the past few years.
