Folks, the 13th Annual Howard Hill Southeastern Classic will be going on June 2nd, 3rd & 4th, 2017 at Tannehill Historical State Park in McCalla, AL.
www.tannehill.org

Again, it is a multi round format with the highest score over the course of the weekend winning.  The 1st round card turned in by 2:30 pm on Saturday afternoon will determine what 30 men & 15 women will be in the Championship Shoot-off, Saturday evening. The winner, Man & Woman, will receive a Howard Hill Longbow.

Plenty of door prizes will be given away free during supper Saturday night.

I started a separate thread concerning this year's "ONE SHOT~ONE KILL" competition.   DON'T MISS READING ABOUT IT.  IT'S GONNA BE SPECIAL!!!

I'll be adding Vendors and other information along the way.

Man, I hope I can make it out there this year! I have heard nothing but good stuff about this shoot!

Is it deer season yet?

I see this is a Howard hill event, are recurves allowed to shoot? My family and I really enjoyed the spring fling shoot and tannehill park itself but currently I only own recurve bows.

Absolutely Julian, longbow, recurve and self bow are welcome.  Classes for each, men & women.

As a matter of fact, check out my post on the "ONE SHOT~ONE KILL", you'll find it interesting for you recurve shooters.

That's good to know, tannehill is a really nice place. We stayed in the small cabins and they were perfect for us and very reasonably priced. We wouldn't have been able to stay otherwise my little girl isn't quite old enough for winter tent camping just yet. I am looking forward to making it back up for this shoot.

Bisch, come on over. You will enjoy it a lot. I went to the third one and have not missed one since. If you do make it over, I would like to meet you. This is one of the better shoots I attend.

Is there a flyer or anything on this shoot that shows cost to shoot? We went to the spring fling and had a blast! Would love to attend this one as well.

T. W. Harris

Zachary, if you'll shoot me your email address, I'll email you my flyer for the HH Classic.

Last year's Howard Hill and this year's Spring Fling were my first outings.    A great feature is the experience on the practice range.  You can watch other shooter's technique and if you ask politely, you may get to try others' equipment.    Making new friends on the shooting trail is as fun as the shooting.  I "camp out" at the Best Western on Academy Lane, Bessemer exit about 10 miles away.

Ron, there's nothing like a good "coke shot" with your friends.

Hey Terry, thanks for the leg work setting up these shoots at Tannehill.   Lots of fun, went last year for the first time.   Then I did the Pre Spring Fling 2017.   Meet trad'guys, try their stuff, hump the course, pull arrows out of trees, talk to vendors, had a beaver tail grip installed on my Savanah, etc. good fun.  I camp out at the Best Western on Academy Ln. about 10 miles away in Bessemer.
